How to get to Montblanc
CAN I GET THERE BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT?
Yes, there are buses and trains that reach the town. You can consult the timetables in the section HOW TO GET HERE.
HOW CAN I GET THERE BY CAR?
You can get there by the roads C-14, N-240 and AP-2 (exit 9).
WHERE CAN I PARK?
There are several public car parks, both paid and free, scattered throughout the town. You can check their location on the tourist map of Montblanc.
CAN I PARK A MOTORHOME?
Yes, in any area of the town that has been fitted out as a car park. However, if you wish to stay overnight, you must do so in the areas specified in the section ACCOMMODATION.
How to discover Montblanc
WHAT CAN I DO?
Lots of things! In the section SEE&DO you can find the suggestions offered by the Montblanc Tourist Office.
CAN I VISIT THE WALLED ENCLOSURE?
Yes, of course! The stretch that can be visited is about three hundred metres long and has five towers, three of which you can go out on the roof and enjoy the panoramic views of Montblanc. You can check the opening hours of the wall in the section MONUMENTS.
CAN I VISIT OTHER HISTORICAL BUILDINGS?
There are several historical buildings open to the public at specific times, such as the old hospital of Santa Magdalena, the church of Santa Maria or the sanctuary of La Serra. You can consult their opening hours in the section TIMETABLES OF THE VISITABLE SPACES. It is not possible to visit the castle of Montblanc because it no longer exists, but you can walk up the hill where it was located and enjoy splendid views of the town.
WHAT CAN I DO WITH CHILDREN?
We suggest you discover the town with your family through play with the self-guided tours "Explore Montblanc your own way!", for children between 5 and 8 years old, and "Discover the imposter of Montblanc", for children between 9 and 12 years old. These self-guided family tours can be purchased at the Tourist Office.
ARE THERE MUSEUMS?
Yes, Montblanc has several museums, such as the Nativity Scenes Museum of Catalonia, the Provincial Museum of Conca de Barberà or the Cave Art Interpretation Centre. There are also four art galleries. You can consult the information on each space in the section CULTURE AND ART CENTRES.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO WALK THROUGH THE NATURAL SURROUNDINGS?
Montblanc covers an area of about 90 km2 and has different districts: La Guàrdia dels Prats, Lilla, Prenafeta, Rojals and El Pinetell. That is why there are many excursions to do in Montblanc and its natural environment. From the Tourist Office we propose you some very diverse ones, depending on the difficulty or the distance. You can consult them in the section WALKING ROUTES.
WHAT ARE THE TYPICAL PRODUCTS?
A visit to Montblanc cannot end without tasting its traditional products such as cold meat (sausage, white and black sausage, etc.) and sweets ("coca", "merlet" or "montblanquí"). You can discover the different local producers in the section GASTRONOMY. Furthermore, in the modernist cellar of Montblanc, next to the Tourist Office, you will find the agro store Fet a la Conca, the agri-food cooperative made up of artisan producers from la Conca de Barberà.

WHAT IS THE SETMANA MEDIEVAL?
The Setmana Medieval de Sant Jordi is a festival set in the Middle Ages and the legend of Sant Jordi. For 10 days Montblanc is transformed and relives its medieval past with dozens of cultural and recreational events with a medieval atmosphere. According to Catalan tradition, Sant Jordi killed the dragon in Montblanc and that is why, since 1987, the Setmana Medieval (Medieval Week) vindicates this legend with a popular festival of National Tourist Interest. It is held around Sant Jordi, on 23 April. The dates of celebration and the programme of each edition can be consulted on the SETMANA MEDIEVAL website.
WHAT IS #SAFRÀNIA365?
#Safrània365 is the cycle of experiences around the local products, landscape and gastronomy of Montblanc and la Conca de Barberà. Throughout the year, activities are held to learn about saffron, wine, oil and cereals. 2023 was the last year of the #Safrània365 celebration.
WHAT IS BRICKÀNIA?
Brickània is the Montblanc Lego Construction Festival. Organised by the Tourist Office, it is held in June and takes place in the old church of Sant Francesc. You can enjoy a large exhibition of mockups, specialised points of sale, robotics workshops and demonstrations, a play area and raffles. The dates and programme of each edition can be consulted in the section BRICKÀNIA.
WHAT IS TERRÀNIA?
Terrània is the Montblanc International Ceramics Festival. It is organised by the Tourist Office during the last weekend of September. The festival takes place in the old church of Sant Francesc where during a weekend you can buy unique pieces from national and international ceramists, participate in ceramics workshops for children and adults, enjoy the demonstrations of the ceramists and visit the different exhibitions. The dates and programme of each edition can be consulted in the section TERRÀNIA.
WHAT IS CLICKÀNIA?
Clickània is the Montblanc Playmobil Click Festival. It is held in mid-October, taking advantage of the 12th October bank holiday. It is organised by the Tourist Office and takes place in the old church of Sant Francesc. You can enjoy a large exhibition of mockups, specialised points of sale, competitions and raffles. The dates and programme of each edition can be consulted in the section CLICKÀNIA.
Is there...?
FREE WIFI?
Yes, Montblanc Town Council offers free wifi connection in public spaces marked with "Montblanc Wifi". You can check their location on the tourist map of Montblanc.
PICNIC AREA?
Yes, at the chapel of Sant Josep and at the Pla de Santa Bàrbara. In the case of the chapel, you can contact Les 3 esses who manage the chapel and its surroundings. You can do so by calling +34 685 90 40 55 or on the LES 3 ESSES website.
A WEEKLY MARKET?
Yes, every Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Major and Catalunya squares.
ELECTRIC CHARGERS?
Yes, there are two places to charge electric cars: the car parks of the Muralla de Santa Tecla and Sant Miquel square. You can check their location on the tourist map of Montblanc.
