The celebration of the Holy Week in  Montblanc is considered as one of the oldest in the region. We know that  ‘la Congregació de la Puríssima Sang’, entity which organizes the acts during the Holy Week, already existed in 1601. They have seat in the old church-hospital of Sant Marçal, where, during the year  the images of the Good Friday Procession are kept. Almost all the scenes and images are of the 20th century, because the old ones were destroyed. ‘Els armats’ (Roman soldiers) who take care of the Christ are one of the most spectacular elements of the celebration, due to the way they are dressed as well as the way they march.
