Celebration
The Good Friday Procession is the central event of Holy Week in Montblanc. With more than 400 years of history, it still follows the same streets as it did centuries ago.
The day begins with the traditional Way of the Cross, which starts at the church of Santa Maria and ascends to the Pla de Santa Bàrbara. Throughout the day, the armats, Roman soldiers, watch over the Holy Christ at the church of Sant Miquel until the evening, when the collection of images takes place. These will parade in the night’s procession, transporting the town back in time in a solemn and deeply moving atmosphere.
