Origin

In the past on Saint John’s Eve, in the  evening, the people in Montblanc went up to ‘Sant Joan’ (Saint John) hermitage to celebrate the festivity altogether. The lighting of the bonfire was the signal for the rest of bonfires of all the villages around. While in the hermitage there was the fair around the fire in the nearest villages there was a popular supper with the ‘coca’ (typical Catalan cake) the sweet wine and the fireworks  to start a great and exciting night.
