Origin
The Feast of Corpus Christi in Montblanc is a celebration with deep historical roots, considered for centuries one of the most popular and significant festivities in the town. Since the 14th century, the festival has brought together confraternities, neighborhoods, local authorities, and all the folkloric elements, making it a truly splendid event. One of the most unique aspects of the old procession was the presence of the gravedigger, who would close the parade and had the task of keeping at a distance the hooded women praying with a rosary in their hands.
