Celebration

On Christmas Eve, many Montblanc residents gather in the Major square to celebrate the tradition of the tió and later attend Midnight Mass. On the afternoons of Christmas Day, St. Stephen’s Day, and New Year’s Eve, Els Pastorets, a traditional Christmas play, is performed continuously in Montblanc since 1939.

On December 31st, the Home dels Nassos (Man of the Noses) roams the streets and squares, accompanied by music and distributing sweets to children.

A few days before the Epiphany, the royal page collects children's letters for the Three Wise Men. On the eve of the Three Kings, the traditional parade fills Montblanc’s main streets and squares with magic and wonder.
