Origin
The most characteristic element of the Montblanc Carnival was the Xeringa, a tradition of medieval origin. It involved building a large syringe and asking visitors for a tithe. Those who refused were sprayed with water. Today, the Xeringa is celebrated in the Major square and consists of soaking anyone who passes by.
