Terrània, the International Pottery Festival of Montblanc, will celebrate its 21st edition from September 27th to 29th. Weeks before, and coinciding with the Festa Major, contemporary pottery can already be enjoyed with the exhibition En blanc i negre (In black and white) by Ramon Fort, which will be hosted by the Sala Sant Miquel starting this Friday, September 6th, at 6:30 p.m.

Ramon Fort is a Montblanc potter based in Alt Empordà with a long career, great professional recognition, and a solid reputation as a teacher.

The image for this year’s edition of Terrània has been designed from works that will be exhibited over the coming weeks. The pieces offer a universe of textures inspired by nature and the geological power of mountain landscapes. The artwork that can be viewed appears in the catalog that the festival organization has published for the occasion.

The opening hours make use of the four weekends in September and Montblanc’s Festa Major: Fridays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays, Sundays, and on the 9th, 10th, and 11th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

In the weeks leading up to Terrània, the Conca de Barberà Regional Museum will also display pottery from its own collection. Ceràmica, l'evidència material (Ceramics, the material evidence) will be open until November 10th during regular museum hours.

On the other hand, from Thursday, September 12th, tickets will go on sale for the workshops that will be offered on Saturday and Sunday during Terrània.

This year’s edition includes six workshops. The cloister of Sant Francesc will host a pottery wheel workshop, a candle-holder castle-making workshop, and a carving and sgraffito workshop by El pardal creatiu. In the same space, the rakú and microwave rakú workshops return with potter Montse Llanas. And in the Sala de les Corts Catalanes, there will be a nativity figure workshop with the Museu del Pessebre de Catalunya (Nativity Museum).
