Since last week, the program for the 21st edition of Terrània, the International Ceramics Festival of Montblanc, which will take place on September 27th, 28th, and 29th, has been available.

The program and all graphic material have been designed by Isaac Ballesté. Throughout, it features the distinction received this year from the National Crafts Award in the Prestigia category, which adds to the Honor Award from the Association of Ceramists of Catalonia in the Crafts Award of Catalonia category received in 2018. Clear indicators of the established prestige of Terrània in the ceramics world.

This year, a total of thirty ceramists from six different regions will participate in the festival: Catalonia (9), France (9), Belgium (6), Spain (4), Argentina (1), and Poland (1). This year, 45 participation applications were submitted.

The program, flyer, and poster can be found on the festival's website www.terrania.cat and, as every year, will be distributed from the Montblanc Tourist Office. After the Festa Major, tickets for the scheduled activities will go on sale.

The poster features a piece by Ramon Fort, a ceramist from Montblanc based in Alt Empordà. The central exhibition, titled En blanc i negre (In Black and White), is dedicated to him at the Sala Sant Miquel. It will be open from Friday, September 6th, coinciding with the Festa Major de Montblanc, until the celebration of Terrània.

A few months ago, it was announced that Belgium would be the guest territory. The ceramist Margot Thyssen, who participated in the festival in 2019, has coordinated the participation of six ceramists based in Flanders, Wallonia, and France who will exhibit at the Sala Sant Jordi in the old convent of Sant Francesc.

The festival's inauguration will be on Friday, September 27th, led by the president of the Tarragona Provincial Council, Noemí Llauradó. As is traditional, there will be a tour to visit the rest of the scheduled exhibitions.

At the Regional Museum, from August 30th to November 10th, you can see the exhibition Cerámica, l'evidència manterial from the MCCB collection.
At the El Be Negre Ceramics gallery, during the festival, the exhibition Rastres by Montse Aiguadé will be shown.
At the Ester Ramon Sculptor gallery, from September 21st to November 30th, the exhibition Trepitajnt la terra (Walking on Earth) will be displayed, where the Montblanc artist addresses the destruction of nature and the need to respect the earth by traveling on foot.
At the Sala de les Corts Catalanes, the exhibition Procés creatiu d'una figura de pessebre (Creative Process of a Nativity Scene Figure) from the Nativity Scene Museum of Catalonia will be shown, once again in charge of the nativity figure molding workshop for all audiences, held in the same room.

Festival attendees will find five types of workshops in the cloister of Sant Francesc.
Coordinated by Pardal Creatiu, there will be three options to choose from: carving and sgraffito, creating a castle (for children), and wheel throwing.
Coordinated by ceramist Montse Llanas, there will be two: raku and microwave raku.

Additionally, demonstrations are planned throughout the weekend by various ceramists: Anna Maria Redón, Soberado Atelier, Paula Suco, Lluís Soler, and the Sala Àcrata association from Sarral.

One week before the 21st edition of Terrània, the main novelty that attendees will be able to see at the festival will be announced.
