Castlà's Palace
Construction
15th century.
Architectural features
This big building has a cubic form, with round angles for a better defence. It has an interior courtyard with arcades, a garden and an orchard which arrived as far as the wall, where a private gateway was opened. In the process of restoring the façade in the 20th century, some Renaissance windows were discovered which, it seems, are of great artistic value.
History
Built after the Catalan Civil War, it was the seat of the castlà or castellan, the king's military representative. During other wars, the lower part of the building was turned into a prison and this left the structure in a bad condition. Nowadays it is a private property.
