The Josa House

It is one of the most outstanding buildings in the town and the seat of the regional Museum

Construction:
Between the 14th and 18th century.
Characteristics:
From the 13th century two arcades and a doorway with a slightly pointed  arch which probably was the access to the house are preserved.
History:
It is situated near ‘Santa Maria’ apse, and it belonged to a family called ‘Vilafranca’. With the passing of time it has suffered several alterations in its structure. It is thought that at the beginning it was part of the Royal Town Clerks’ Office, building next to it. In the 18th century when it belonged to the ‘Josa’ family suffered a lot of alterations. At present it is the seat of the regional Museum.

The Museum. Timetable: Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10 to 14  and from 16 to 19 ( in Summer from 17 to 20), on Sundays from 10 to 14.
