Construction
Though it has a Roman origin, the work we can see today is from the 12th century.

Architectural features
At first in its extremes there were two arches, one with an sculpture of the town shield and the other with an angel. These arches were demolished in the 19th century because the carriages could not pass through.

The bridge was situated in the royal way and it suffered destruction attempts several times. It has also suffered the floods effects.
