El Pinetell
Location
El Pinetell is a small, distinctive settlement located in the Muntanyes de Prades, at an altitude of around 610 metres, within the basin of the Brugent River. It lies to the south-west of Montblanc, on the left bank of the Brugent, and is the most remote outlying hamlet of the municipality.
Road access is via la Riba, along the Farena road, a route that enhances its particularly quiet and secluded character, set in the heart of a natural environment.
History
Historically, it belonged to Rojals, with which it maintained close ties over the centuries, sharing farmland, property, church and cemetery. This relationship lasted until 1940, when, following the incorporation of Rojals into the municipality of Montblanc, El Pinetell was also annexed.
Today, the settlement has a very small population, with around ten inhabitants, reinforcing its rural character and its strong connection to the surrounding natural landscape.
