A district located in the east of Montblanc, at the bottom of ‘el Tossal Gros’ (867 metres), the highest point of Carbonària mountain range.

Although there is documentation in 1060, it was not founded until a century later during the reign of Ramon Berenguer IV. Later, the barony of Prenafeta was constituted, shared with Figuerola, Miramar, Mas d'Amill and Montornès. In the 18th century, its inhabitants moved to the current location and in the highest part, Barceloneta was created (nowadays, this hamlet belongs to Montblanc). In the 19th century it was attached to Lilla.
